embroidered sampler, Finsbury Rifles

The insignia of the 11th County of London Battalion Finsbury Rifles embroidered onto a cream coloured cloth, there is faint brown staining to the material, it has been mounted on cardboard which has caused weakening at the corners where the material has torn and frayed.
Private William Brown (452239) of the 11th County of London Battalion Finsbury Rifles was wounded in the thigh at Ypres and sent to Summerdown Camp in Eastbourne for convalescing. While there he embroidered this badge of the Finsbury Rifles.
