Died from exhaustion after saving many lives in the sinking of H.M.T. "Transylvania" for which the award of the Board of Trade Silver medal for saving life at sea was posthumously made. Son of Laura Charlotte Rachel Barclay, of "Hurst Lea," Albury Heath, Guildford, and the late Robert Barclay.
