Educated at Durston House, St. Paul's School, New College, Oxford (B.A. Oxon.) and Cheshunt Theological College. Deacon to the Parish of St. Wulstan, Selly Oak, and joined the staff of St. Patrick's, Birmingham, in 1917. Enlisted early in 1918 with the permission of his Bishop.
